Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of television news photography experience.
• Working knowledge of non-linear video editing systems (Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid, or similar).
• Strong shooting skills with an eye for composition and natural sound.
• Solid knowledge of audio capture and basic lighting techniques.
• Ability to work calmly and proficiently under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and breaking news.

This position is responsible for capturing high-quality video and audio in the field and contributing to post-production through editing as needed to support KDKA’s broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.

• Strong shooting skills with an eye for composition and natural sound

• Ability to work calmly and proficiently under tight deadlines
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a large-market or CBS O&O newsroom
• Familiarity with live news, severe weather, and breaking news workflows
• Knowledge of newsroom media management systems
• Drone or specialty camera experience (where applicable and properly licensed)
