Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.

Responsibilities

• Organize and string together raw footage into a continuous whole according to scripts for newscasts and programming.
• Review assembled footage to determine whether corrections are necessary.
• Trim filmed segments to specified lengths and reassemble sequences for clear storytelling.
• Set up and operate editing systems, titling, video switching, and effects units to produce final products.
• Select the most effective shots to form a smooth, logical story.
• Confer with staff to discuss assignments, work product and desired effects.
• Maintain editing equipment.
