Job summary

CNN is seeking a News Desk Producer to work at the nerve center of the Washington newsroom. The ideal candidate is someone who embraces the challenge of multi-tasking in a fast-paced news environment.

You will be responsible for coordinating and managing live signals for DC events and other incoming feeds while providing timely updates to the shows and digital managers and maintaining communications with them.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of progressively complex related experience.
• Strong editorial acumen and ability to interpret.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced news environment 24 hours/ 365 days a year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate feeds for DC bureau ensuring all participants are informed about logistics.
• Work with satellites and feeds to ensure elements are routed and recorded.
• Communicate with shows and other desks regarding incoming events and feeds.
• Coordinate pool coverage and dissemination.
• Edit newsworthy video elements for digital platforms.
• Work with field production managers to coordinate on assignments for photojournalists and launch crews on breaking news or developing stories.
• Ensure new video and other visual elements are shared with the network along with editorial information.
• Assist newsgathering by making calls to DC area officials.
