Job summary

News 12 is seeking a freelance Videographer to shoot and/or edit video for news programs, live coverage, breaking news and other productions and promotions for all news services. The role emphasizes delivering high quality visuals with independence or as part of a team.

Responsibilities include driving news vehicles, operating production equipment, maintaining gear, and meeting tight deadlines with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Broadcasting or Television Production preferred; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum one year of experience in a television field production preferred.
• Editing experience required.
• Adobe Premiere experience preferred.
• Understanding of camera operation (ENG cameras a plus) and photographic techniques.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Knowledge in current and emerging newscast technologies.
• Basic knowledge of news operations and practices helpful.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule with ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing within the state of current residence.

Compensation

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $43,427.00 - $71,344.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
