The machinist will complete machining and fitting of metal parts, interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, specifications, and schematics. Responsibilities include setting up and operating all available machines, performing machining operations with close tolerances, selecting proper tooling, and ensuring work meets specifications. Experience with CNC machines and programming fundamentals is required. The role also involves monitoring coolant quality, performing TPM tasks, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Candidate must be pursuing (full-time or part-time) a two-year Vocational/Accredited school certificate/degree. Upon completion and accumulating 4,000 in-house machining hours, the candidate will advance to Machinist A. Knowledge of machining practices, mechanical principles, shop mathematics, setups, tooling, and machinability of materials is required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
