Relocate to the Great Lakes Region — Lakeshore Living, Small-Town Roots, and Room to Grow

Whether you land in West Michigan's Lakeshore or Northwest Indiana, both plants sit along the shores of Lake Michigan, offering beaches, small-town affordability, and an easy drive to bigger cities (Grand Rapids or Chicago) when you want them. It's a rare combination: a lower cost of living, room to breathe, and room to grow.

Responsibilities

The Segment Project Procurement Specialist will report to the Regional Procurement Lead for the Metal Castings division, North America, and provide procurement and project management support to multiple manufacturing plants within the division, including sites outside North America, to ensure business unit goals are met through the execution of procurement strategies. Procurement strategies include, but are not limited to, security of supply, cost savings, process optimization, and supplier risk mitigation.

This is a highly visible, business-facing role. The person in this seat is expected to think beyond transactional procurement and understand the downstream impact of sourcing and contracting decisions on plant operations, cost structure, and business unit performance.

This position can be based in the greater Muskegon, Michigan, or northwest Indiana metro area.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
  • Contract Development and Management
    • Review plant requirements and statements of work (SOWs) to identify potential suppliers and contractors.
    • Create, review, and negotiate service agreements and purchase orders to ensure all contract language accurately reflects scope, requirements, deliverables, performance metrics, pricing, schedule, and terms and conditions.
    • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with company contract procedures before issuance.
    • Monitor contract performance to ensure requirements are being met and provide risk mitigation actions as necessary.
  • Project Management
    • Lead capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, including sourcing and procurement of capital equipment, machinery, and building materials, from proposal review through contract execution.
    • Lead and support outsourcing and outplant work initiatives, cost reduction efforts, supplier growth strategies, and supplier onboarding.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to define project timelines, manage deliverables, and provide action plans to eliminate project delays.
  • Process Control and Compliance
    • Identify inefficiencies in procurement processes across the division and implement solutions to reduce process waste, improve cost effectiveness, and maintain a high level of compliance with procurement and financial procedures.
  • Multi-Site Support
    • Provide direct support to plants across the division to resolve procurement operational challenges and ensure a consistent, high level of execution.
    • At times, provide backup executional support to plants, including but not limited to issuance of RFQs, placement of purchase orders, reconciliation of invoices, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Procurement or Contract Development/Management within procurement is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with Oracle or a similar enterprise business system.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position involves access to export-controlled items, and employment offers are conditioned on the applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting highly desired.
  • Demonstrated experience managing capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with strong emphasis on Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to frequently visit the plant shop floor for a better understanding of operations.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to build metrics and reports from various data sources.
  • High degree of personal integrity and sound judgment, with the ability to operate independently and represent the business well in front of internal and external stakeholders.
