Job summary

Fisher Auto Parts in Staunton, VA is seeking a dedicated full-time associate to accurately receive and verify returns, batteries, and cores. You will use scanners and the inventory system to ensure proper receipt and keep paperwork aligned with overages and shortages.

Responsibilities include verifying product quality (new vs used), maintaining accuracy toward daily goals, and entering discrepancies promptly within 24 hours of putaway.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Pre-employment drug test required.
• Wear PPE as directed by Company policy.
• Adherence to all Company policies and procedures as contained in employee handbooks.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately receives and verifies incoming store returns/batteries/cores for proper receipt.

Essential Functions:

• Accurately scans or verifies receipt of product
• Verifies paperwork and documents proper overages and shorts for incoming product
• Verifies quality of incoming product (new part vs. used part)

• Check and restock merchandise & inventory, inspect for damage, and verify counts

• Responsible for entering overages and shortages into the computer system in a timely and efficient manner, usually within 24 hours of putaway completion on the floor
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work effectively within a diverse population and workforce both individually and as part of a team
• Perform other duties and/or work in other departments of work location as assigned

Requirements

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test
• Wear appropriate footwear protection and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed by Company policy
• Acknowledgement of and adherence to all Company policies and procedures as contained within the Fisher Auto Parts Employee and Driver’s Handbooks

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, reach, lift, carry, bend, kneel, squat, and stoop
• Also required to climb, push/pull, balance, crouch or crawl, talk, speak, and hear
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• May be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and/or vehicles, high/precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, various degrees of cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, items of bulky or varying weight, risk of explosion, and/or vibration.
