Responsibilities

• Give a basic level of general behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to mentally or developmentally disabled patient/youth
• Assist in development of group and individual therapy regimens; act as a provider of group therapy to patient/youth
• Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
• Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
• Educate patients about health maintenance and disease prevention
• Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
• Maintain accurate patient medical recordsWork with other disciplines as part of Treatment Team in the development of treatment plans and objectives from assessments in providing an overall treatment program for patient/youth
• Provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 36 months (3yrs) as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician

• A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association)
