Job summary

Highmark Health in Pennsylvania seeks a direct care nurse to provide high-quality nursing services in accordance with hospital policies and standards.

You will use the nursing process to plan and coordinate care for the age appropriate population, document thoroughly, and teach patients and families to support safe transitions across care settings.

The role may involve precepting students and new staff while ensuring HIPAA compliance and participation in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Active PA RN license or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• Criminal background clearance: Act 34.
• Criminal background clearance: Act 33.
• Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73.
• FBI Fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process in providing and coordinating the plan of patient care for the age appropriate population. (30%)
• Initiates, monitors and revises interdisciplinary plan of care based on assessment findings and physician orders for the age appropriate population. (20%)
• Completes patient documentation in a comprehensive manner in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements that promotes interdisciplinary communication. (25%)
• Provides ongoing and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them across the continuum of care. (20%)
• Supports the development of students, new staff and colleagues, may serve as a preceptor. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
