Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital is seeking a New Grad RN Surgery Resident to join the Operating Room team. You will work under a coach delivering professional nursing care from admission through discharge in operative settings.

The role emphasizes education, patient interaction, and teamwork with a focus on safety and evidence-based practice. On-call requirements and a weekend rotation may apply.

Formación

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• New grad or less than one year RN work experience or if experience RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year of current acute direct patient care RN experience.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on surgery core learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care based on acuity, patient preference and resource availability.
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
• Seeks supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document inpatients’ medical records.

As a New Grad RN Surgery Resident in the OR, you will work alongside a coach and fellow caregivers to deliver exceptional care from admission through discharge, including direct interaction with patients, families and visitors while providing education and support as needed. In this role, you will deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.

Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., with on-call requirements and one Saturday every six weeks.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based onsurgery corelearning needs.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma,ADNor BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• New grad or less than one year RN work experience or if experience RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year of current acute direct patient care RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor ofScience inNursing (BSN)
• Perioperative experience

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
