Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, OH is offering a New Grad RN Residency in the Stepdown Unit. You will deliver patient care under supervision, while participating in a structured residency core curriculum designed for new graduates transitioning to acute care.

The program supports growth with a dedicated success coach, ongoing supervision, and a focus on prioritizing patient needs, safety, and documentation. Relocation support may be available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma/ADN/BSN) required.
• New graduate RN or less than 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current state RN license required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred within first year in CCU/critical care area.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care.
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate corrective actions.
• Seek supervision and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records.

About This Role

As a New Grad RN Resident in the Stepdown Unit at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital, you will provide exceptional patient care while working with a compassionate team. This role is ideal for new graduates or RNs transitioning to acute care settings.

What You'll Do

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.

• Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.

Requirements

Education

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program) required.

Experience

• New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience required.
• RN moving from a non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year of current acute direct patient care RN experience.

Licenses & Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred within the first year if in a Critical Care area.
