Job summary

UC San Diego Health is recruiting for its March 2027 Nurse Residency Program Cohort. Newly licensed RNs will participate in a comprehensive transition-to-practice experience with enhanced clinical learning and hands-on skill training.

The program supports growth in a fast-paced ED Inpatient Transition Unit, where nurses care for patients from the Emergency Department to Inpatient units, with a focus on exceptional patient outcomes and professional nursing excellence.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• California RN license required by start date; interim permits may be considered.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS at hire with commitment to obtain ART within 6 months.
• Must have less than six months of RN work experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide total patient care for patients transitioning from ED to Inpatient units.
• Serve as a resource to other nursing team members and promote policy compliance.
• Participate in the Nurse Residency Program's hands-on skill training and learning activities.
