Job summary

The RN Residency Program at Chippenham Hospital is a paid, year‑long program designed to help new graduates transition from student nurse to registered nurse. You will gain hands‑on experience in a supportive environment with nurse educators, mentors, and a diverse patient population.

Participants rotate through units such as Medical Surgical Neuro Telemetry, Medical Trauma, Burn Wound Unit, Orthopedic, Cardiac Renal Pulmonary, Arrhythmia Care, and Short Stay, while developing critical thinking

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS within 1 year of employment.
• Other certifications may be required during employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Registered Nurse license or Graduate Nurse in the state.
• No previous experience needed.
• Some travel may be needed for training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care per department standards.
• Assist with admission, shift reporting, and documentation in the medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor therapeutic responses.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow‑up steps.
