Mission Trail Baptist Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care under minimal supervision for a designated group of patients. You will complete competencies within the introductory period, participate in education, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have active Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) required on hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days.
• ACLS within 60 days; must include Adult Critical Care, Telemetry, Interim Critical Care units.
• PALS within 60 days; Pedi ICU orientation.
• NRP within 60 days; NICU.
• S.T.A.B.L.E. for NICU Level 2; renewal not required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assesses human responses and adaptation to health problems of patient, family and/or significant other.
• Initiates and monitors a plan for patient care; reassesses needs continuously.
• Recognizes changing patient condition and uses RRT when appropriate.
• Prioritizes information to take immediate patient-focused action.
• Supports and maintains physiologic stability of patients.
• Documents plans and care provided.
• Educates patient, family, and significant others with written/other resources.
• Assigns care to licensed staff and delegates to unlicensed staff; coordinates workflow.
• Calculates and administers medications.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team in planning and management of care.
• Addresses end-of-life decisions and patient-family needs.
• Monitors resources; maintains safe environment; participates in discharge planning.
• Engages in professional development and adheres to Studer Principles.
• Facilitates patient movement, admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Manages hand-offs and uses documentation tools for hand-offs.
• Delivers the defined standard of care including core measures and chest pain protocol.
• Uses resources efficiently; maintains safe environment.
• Addresses patient population-specific needs; participates in Performance Improvement.

Education

Graduate of accredited school of nursing
