Job summary

Goaly is seeking an early-career engineer to join a hands-on technical team. You will work across model post-training, RL environments, distributed systems, training or inference performance, and backend services, APIs, SDKs, or developer tools.

This role targets fresh graduates or those with up to two years of industry experience, valuing raw technical strength, initiative, and rapid learning. PhD candidates or strong researchers may fit into more advanced tracks.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field, or equivalent ability demonstrated through work.
• Exceptional coding ability in at least one general-purpose language with evidence from code/projects.
• Strong CS fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, systems, and performance reasoning.
• Track record of learning difficult material quickly and completing ambitious work with limited structure.
• Grit, curiosity, humility, and willingness to work hard on high-impact problems outside initial expertise.
• Clear communication and ability to collaborate in a fast-moving, low-ego environment.

Responsibilities

• Own meaningful technical projects from problem definition through implementation, testing, rollout, and iteration.
• Write simple, high-quality code and deeply understand the surrounding system to make sound design and debugging decisions.
• Investigate ambiguous failures across unfamiliar layers, use evidence to narrow the problem, and ask for help to accelerate the team.
• Contribute across ML experiments, data or evaluation pipelines, distributed services, performance work, product features, and developer tooling.
• Build tests, metrics, documentation, and operational tools to ensure reliability and maintainability.
