Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Software Engineer Graduate for the Data Ecosystem team in San Jose. You will help design offline/real-time data architectures for the large-scale recommendation platform, prioritizing reliability and scalable storage.

You will work with Java, C++, and Scala, and gain exposure to Spark/Flink and lakehouse technologies such as Hudi, Iceberg, and Delta Lake to build robust data storage and tooling for the recommendation, search, and advertising domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field; 3+ years of experience building scalable systems.
• Proficiency with Spark/Flink at source code level is preferred.
• Experience with data lake technologies (Hudi, Iceberg, Delta Lake) and knowledge of HDFS is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement an offline/real-time data architecture for large-scale recommendation systems.
• Design and implement a flexible, scalable, stable, and high-performance storage system and computation model.
• Troubleshoot production systems, and design and implement necessary mechanisms and tools to ensure the overall stability of production systems.
• Build industry-leading distributed systems such as offline and online storage, batch, and stream processing frameworks, providing reliable infrastructure for massive data and large-scale business systems.
