Job description

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. Micron’s Module Development Engineering team is responsible for the design, development, validation, and characterization of next‑generation DRAM memory module products. The team works closely with design, simulation, software, manufacturing, and component engineering organizations to ensure products meet performance, reliability, quality, and customer requirements. Through comprehensive engineering analysis and validation, the team helps drive successful product development from concept through production.

As a Module Hardware Validation Engineer, you will perform design and development engineering assignments related to hardware products and systems, including new product development and enhancements to existing products. You will validate DRAM module PCBAs, evaluate active component and system performance, develop test methods and automation tools, and support hardware design verification activities. This role combines hardware characterization, failure analysis, software development, and project execution to ensure high‑quality memory solutions. You will also apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI‑Assisted tools to improve efficiency, automate workflows, and enhance data analysis across validation activities.

Responsibilities
  • Perform design, development, validation, and characterization of DRAM memory modules and related hardware systems, including evaluation of signal integrity, power integrity, and overall module performance using laboratory equipment, test platforms, and PC systems.
  • Develop, execute, and improve test methods, validation plans, project schedules, and engineering processes to verify hardware designs, identify design weaknesses, conduct failure analysis, and ensure successful product qualification.
  • Characterize and benchmark active components, including power management integrated circuits (PMICs), register clock drivers (RCDs), switching regulators, thermal sensors, and other critical devices, while collaborating with simulation engineers to correlate measurement results with design simulations.
  • Develop and modify software tools, automation solutions, and Jira‑based tracking systems to support validation activities, compare product generation performance, organize engineering data, and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Apply Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, and AI‑Assisted engineering tools to enhance validation workflows, automate data analysis, improve reporting accuracy, and increase the robustness and efficiency of hardware validation processes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in hardware design, hardware validation, electrical characterization, board‑level debugging, or system‑level hardware testing.
  • Hands‑on experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, or similar laboratory instrumentation for hardware evaluation and debugging.
  • Experience developing test methods, executing validation plans, documenting engineering results, and supporting product development activities.
  • Programming or scripting experience in Python, C/C++, or similar languages for automation, data analysis, or software tool development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with DRAM memory technologies, memory modules, high‑speed digital interfaces, or PCBA design and validation.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, power delivery systems, PMICs, RCDs, switching regulators, thermal sensors, and related hardware characterization techniques.
  • Experience developing automated test frameworks, engineering dashboards, Jira workflows, or data management tools for validation organizations.
  • Experience establishing and conducting testing routines, developing project plans, budgets, schedules, and documenting engineering work and results.
  • Experience applying Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, AI‑Assisted tools, or AI‑Enabled engineering solutions to improve productivity, automation, data analysis, and engineering decision‑making.
