Job summary

QuEra Computing in Boston, MA, seeks a mid-level Quantum Scientist - R&D to contribute to the advancement of neutral-atom quantum computing technologies. You will design, implement, and characterize quantum computing systems and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicists, engineers, and computer scientists to push the boundaries of quantum computing using neutral-atom platforms.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Physics with AMO focus.
• Hands-on experience with quantum computing platforms and technologies.
• Experience with neutral atoms, trapped ions, or similar systems.
• Experience architecting and integrating complex hardware-software systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, self-starting attitude.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in Python/C++ and publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Responsibilities

• Design and build state-of-the-art neutral atom quantum computers.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to verify and validate modules.
• Investigate noise and decoherence sources and propose mitigations.
• Analyze experimental data to guide system improvements.
