Job summary

The Neurovascular Sonographer I at Medical University Hospital Authority's Neurovascular Lab provides ultrasound imaging support aligned with Clinical Neurophysiology Services and MUSC goals. The position reports to the Lab Coordinator and operates in a 40-hour, day-shift schedule.

Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited vascular ultrasound program, RVT/RVS registration, one year of vascular ultrasound experience, and current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program of vascular technology or the equivalent.
• Registered RVT by ARDMS or RVS by CCI is required and must be maintained.
• One year of vascular ultrasound work experience is required.
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Clinical Neurophysiology Services department and MUSC goals.
• Performs vascular ultrasound exams as part of the neurovascular lab.
• Contributes to quality measures and patient care objectives.

Job Description

The Neurovascular Sonographer I reports to the Neurovascular Lab Coordinator.Under limited supervision the Neurovascular Sonographer I supports the Clinical Neurophysiology Services department, ICE and Medical Center goals.Goals include achievement of clinical and quality measures, operational efficiency, financial targets as well as population/age specific needs of the department.

Additional Job Description

Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program of Vascular technology or the equivalent and registered as an RVT by ARDMS or as RVS by CCI is required and must be maintained. One year of Vascular Ultrasound work experience is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
