Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group in Connecticut is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice RN (APRN) to join our neurosurgery team. This advanced practice role offers 1:1 training with neurosurgeons and exposure to DBS and HIFU programs, with both clinic and OR time.

The position emphasizes collaboration with an experienced team, a growth-oriented environment, and opportunities to contribute to patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred.
  • Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / APRN in the state of Connecticut.
  • Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or NBCR as an APRN.
  • RNFA certification required for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
  • Preferred >1-year experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant in Neurosurgery or Orthopedic settings; 1st Assist in OR preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Unique, 1:1 training with neurosurgeons.
  • Growth and development with DBS program and HIFU treatment for movement disorders.
  • Clinic and OR time (1st Assist) for cranial and spine procedures.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced advanced practitioners.
  • Established practice with staff who take time with patients.

Advanced Providers Role Scope

We have a growth opportunity for a Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice RN (APRN) who will enjoy:

  • Unique, 1:1 training with neurosurgeons
  • Growth and development- Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) program including the use of High Intensity Focus Ultrasound (HIFU) treatment for movement disorders
  • Both clinic and OR time (1st Assist) for cranial and spine procedures
  • Working with a team of advanced practitioners with an abundance of Neurosurgery experience
  • Established practice and staff who take time with their patients

Shift-FullTimefour 10-hour shifts, M-F. Hours may vary dependent upon case load. No call requirements, no weekends.
