Job summary

CHRISTUS St. Vincent in Beaumont, TX, is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its growing Neurosurgery team. The role combines outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, and hospital consult responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have surgical or neurosurgical inpatient experience and strong clinical assessment and communication skills, with the ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current Texas license as a Physician Assistant.
• NCCPA certification.
• Previous neurosurgery, surgery, orthopedic, spine, or inpatient experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outpatient clinic visits, including new patient evaluations and follow-up appointments.
• Perform post-operative patient management and follow-up care.
• Round on hospitalized neurosurgical patients.
• Evaluate and manage inpatient consults.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, labs, and imaging.
• Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery expectations.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR.
