Indiana University Health invites applications for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Neurosurgery at Methodist Hospital. The role is in a high-volume inpatient neurosurgical service with strong mentorship and professional development opportunities.

The position offers night shifts (3-12 hours), with rotating weekends and close collaboration with 17 physicians and 11 APPs. Ideal candidates have neurocritical care experience and ACNP/AGNP/PA credentials.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• ACNP, AGNP, or PA credentials required.
• Acute Care certification or NP/PA with neurosurgical and/or critical care experience preferred.
• Neurosurgical/Neurology/Trauma ICU experience preferred.
• General knowledge of neurological deficits preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new consults in ED or inpatient units, develop differential diagnoses, and formulate treatment plans in collaboration with supervising neurosurgeons.
• Conduct daily patient rounds, coordinate multidisciplinary care plans, and ensure effective communication among care teams.
• Perform bedside procedures within scope, order/interpret diagnostic studies, and monitor patient progress.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, and long-term follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered neurosurgical team for children and families.
