Job summary

LocumTenens.com seeks a Board-certified Nurse Practitioner to provide day-shift neurosurgical coverage in an inpatient/ER setting at an on-site facility in California. The assignment starts ASAP and continues ongoing, with no call requirements.

The clinician will round on and evaluate neurosurgery patients, coordinate care with the on-call neurosurgeon, and manage orders, notes, and drain removals as indicated, while producing daily progress and discharge documentation.

Qualifications

• Board-certified NP required for neurosurgery coverage.
• Experience in inpatient and neurosurgical or ED settings preferred.
• No call required during the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Round on and evaluate all patients on the neurosurgery service.
• Coordinate care with the neurosurgeon on call.
• Enter orders and write notes; remove drains as indicated.
• Write daily progress notes, discharge instructions, discharge summaries, and consultation notes.
• Communicate changes in care plan or concerns to the neurosurgeon on call promptly.
