Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Neurosurgery department in an outpatient setting at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY. This full-time role focuses on improving access for new referrals and coordinating patient care with neurosurgeons.

The successful candidate will work with the APP Manager, perform histories and physicals, order imaging, document in EMR, and educate patients about neurosurgical disease and treatment

Qualifications

• NP or PA with NY licensure and DEA registration.
• Experience in neurosurgery or neurology preferred.
• Epic EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• See patients in clinical office to reduce wait times for neurosurgery referrals.
• Manage outpatient clinic after training with attending neurosurgeons.
• Document care in EMR and coordinate imaging and tests.
• Educate patients about neurosurgical disease and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with neurosurgery teams and participate in meetings.
