Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a registered nurse to join the Ambulatory Neurosurgery team in the Gonda Building. You will provide direct patient care, coordinate nursing activities, and educate patients and families across pre- and post-operative steps.

The role includes telehealth follow-up and collaboration with neurosurgeons to support safe patient transitions. Requirements include a current RN license and at least one year of RN experience; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program, as recognized by ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA.
• One year of RN experience required.
• All entry-level associate degree RNs with an RN start date must provide evidence of a BSN within five years.
• One year of professional RN experience required.
• Previous Neuro or surgical experience is helpful.
• BSN preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and excellent critical thinking skills.
• Internal applicants should submit their three most recent performance appraisals.
• Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
• BLS, and certification per AHA/HeartCode BLS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care and direct patient care.
• Provide patient/family education and manage transitions of care.
• Provide leadership through preceptor, informal, and formal roles; contribute to quality improvement.
• Participate in telehealth or phone triage as part of care coordination.
