Job summary

HealthPartners seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Neurosurgery team. The role coordinates care for elective and trauma neurosurgery patients, assists in the operating room, and supports pre- and post-operative nursing care.

The AP will participate in patient assessment, write medication and treatment orders, and perform or direct tasks, with daily inpatient rounds expected. This is a full-time position with 4-10 hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited PA or NP program.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current DEA certification (verified during credentialing).
• Licensed as a PA with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
• NCCPA certification.
• Approved by Minnesota Board of Medical Practice for prescription writing privileges.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care of elective and trauma neurosurgery patients.
• Assist the surgeon in the operating room by preparing grafts, closing incisions, and providing first/second assisting as needed.
• Coordinate inpatient care and supervise pre- and post-operative nursing care.
• Write medication and treatment orders and perform or direct related tasks.
• Engage in daily and rotating inpatient rounds.
