Job summary

The University of Tennessee Krishnan and Lau labs seek a motivated laboratory technician for neuroscience research in Psychology & Neuroscience and Biochemistry & Cellular and Molecular Biology. You will perform wet-lab work, animal handling, and image analyses to study neural mechanisms of behavior and neuropsychiatric disorders.

You will maintain mouse colonies, assist with behavioral assays, and help develop and optimize experimental procedures in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in neuroscience or cell biology required.
• Experience with behavioral assays using rodent models.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad range of molecular, cellular, and histological laboratory techniques to support neuroscience projects.
• Assist with day-to-day management of mouse colonies and behavioral assays.
• Prepare biological samples for microscopy and perform image analyses.
• Prepare reagents, maintain inventories, and order supplies; ensure safety and compliance.
• Work independently on routine experiments while collaborating with researchers on more complex studies.
