Job summary

The Lippi lab at Scripps Research seeks a Research Technician to support investigators studying post-transcriptional mechanisms in brain development and function. You will work with cutting-edge tools to advance fundamental biology and translational science in a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities include preparing neuronal cultures, assisting with multiple projects, presenting data in lab meetings, and contributing to papers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Past work with neuronal culture, brain injections or CRISPR screening.
• At least three years of related laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, organized lab workspace and inventory.
• Participate in weekly lab meetings and present data.
• Assist multiple projects under supervision from research staff and graduate students.
• Prepare mouse cortical neuron cultures and perform tissue sectioning and sample collection.
• Independently perform immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, PCR and DNA cloning.
• Collect data, perform statistical analyses and generate graphs.
