This position offers the opportunity to practice the full spectrum of neuroradiology in a collegial, supportive environment serving Prince William Hospital, Haymarket Medical Center, Culpeper Hospital, Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center and Gainesville Outpatient Imaging Center. The role combines the advantages of a dynamic community-based practice with the academic connection and resources of a nationally recognized university health system.

The successful candidate will devote approximately 90–95% effort to clinical service and 5–10% to administrative and service activities, with flexibility to adapt as the division evolves.

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Interpret a comprehensive range of neuroradiology studies, including CT, MRI, CTA/MRA, and head/neck imaging, as well as routine radiography.
  • Perform and interpret image-guided spine and head/neck procedures (e.g., lumbar puncture, myelography, CT-guided biopsies) as appropriate.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences (e.g., tumor boards, stroke conferences) and provide consultative expertise for referring physicians and technical staff.
  • Collaborate with referring providers, neurologists, neurosurgeons, oncologists, and emergency physicians to ensure the highest value use of imaging studies.
  • Share in the division’s clinical schedule and call responsibilities, with occasional coverage at the Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center.
Service & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Contribute to divisional quality improvement, workflow optimization, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Participate in peer review, protocol development, and marketing/recruitment efforts.
  • Work collaboratively with technologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure high-quality imaging protocols and timely service.
  • Support a culture of collegiality, inclusivity, and respect across the Division and UVA Health.
  • Advance the professional reputation of UVA Radiology in the communities we serve.
Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. degree; board certified/eligible in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Fellowship training in Neuroradiology.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Strong clinical skills, collaborative mindset, and commitment to patient-centered care.
Benefits
  • Practice a full range of neuroradiology in a busy, high-quality community setting.
  • Access the expertise and resources of a top-ranked academic radiology department.
  • Work with dedicated colleagues in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
  • Live and practice in Northern Virginia with proximity to Washington, D.C., while serving diverse and growing communities.

The base compensation range for this role is $464,554 - $629,875 for a 1.0 clinical FTE status.
Individual compensation will be determined by fair market value and the selected candidate’s qualifications, clinical experience, specialty training, credentials, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs, such as productivity, quality, non-productivity, or other incentives that may be available for eligible positions.
