Job summary

The Allen Institute seeks a Research Associate to contribute to projects recording activity from thousands of neurons across brain regions in mice. You will work with Neuropixels probes and electrophysiology in a collaborative team of Scientists and Engineers.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, have knowledge in neuroscience and behavior, and show interest in brain-wide circuits during behavior.
• Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience or related field is required.
• Experience with in vivo electrophysiology and rodent behavior is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect in vivo electrophysiological data from mouse cortex using state-of-the-art recording systems.
• Train mice to perform various foraging behavioral tasks.
• Participate in lab maintenance and weekly tasks.
• Analyze data quality and update experimental protocols accordingly.
• Use histological techniques to identify probe recording locations.
