Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tampa, FL, is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Technician. Pay ranges $20.00–$40.00/hour, dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

This position is ideal for technicians with strong anesthesia experience who are eager to further develop their skills in neurology and advanced neurologic procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, clinically confident, and passionate about providing exceptional care to both patients

Qualifications

• Strong anesthesia experience with neurology procedures.
• Ability to manage critically ill neurologic patients.
• Detail-oriented with excellent clinical communication.

Responsibilities

• Independently calculate and administer complex medication dosages, including CRIs and anesthetic protocols.
• Safely induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia for advanced neurologic procedures.
• Monitor anesthetized patients using advanced parameters and respond to changes in status.
• Operate and troubleshoot infusion pumps and syringe pumps.
• Maintain attention to detail while managing critically ill neurologic and neurosurgical patients.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for hospitalized neurology patients per hospital standards.
• Recognize normal/abnormal neurologic findings and communicate concerns to the veterinarian.
• Obtain detailed medical histories and relay relevant information to the clinician.
• Educate clients on neurologic patient care, rehab activities and postop expectations.
• Perform client follow-up communications, medication refills, and ongoing patient care support.
