LocumTenens.com is seeking a Neurology Physician Assistant for an inpatient assignment in Southern Alabama. The position runs day shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with no night or weekend call.

The clinician will provide inpatient coverage for general and stroke neurology, including rounds, emergent consults, and coordinating care with 1-2 neurologists.

Up to two advanced practice clinicians may be placed concurrently to fulfill the full-time coverage need.

About the Clinician's Workday

The neurology physician associate will provide inpatient coverage during day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no night or weekend call required. The scope of work encompasses general and stroke neurology, including daily patient rounding, emergent consults, and responding to stroke alert calls within 15 minutes. Clinical duties include independently conducting neurological and physical examinations, evaluating complex medical histories, formulating differential diagnoses, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and creating and managing medication plans. Additional responsibilities include ICU rounding as needed, coordinating referrals and discharges, and educating patients and families on diagnoses. The clinician will serve as the sole advanced practice clinician on assignment, working alongside 1-2 neurologists. Board certification, ACLS, BLS, prescriptive authority, and an active state license or IMLC are required.
