The role emphasizes developing expertise in adult neurology within a physician-led multispecialty organization and a strong support team.

Qualifications

• NY licensure as PA/NP in NYS required or eligible.
• PA: Bachelor’s in PA studies, NYS licensure qualifying program or equivalent, and NCCPA certification; CPR.
• NP: NP education program, NYSED-acceptable, and AANPCB/ANCC certification; CPR; ambulatory experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with neurological conditions.
• Perform comprehensive histories and neurological examinations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Manage acute and chronic neurological conditions.
• Order and review laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic testing.
• Provide patient education and medication management.
• Coordinate care with primary care providers and specialists.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a variety of neurological conditions
• Perform comprehensive histories and neurological examinations
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

• License and active registration as a physician assistant or registered nurse/nurse practitioner in New York State.
• Physician Assistant:
  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in physician assistant studies and successful completion of physician assistant training program approved by the NYS Department of Education or accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or a program that is determined by the Department to be the substantial equivalent of a licensure qualifying or accredited program.
  • Current certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • At least one year of experience as a physician assistant in ambulatory health care.
  • Current CPR certification.
• Nurse Practitioner:
  • Successful completion of and graduation from a nurse practitioner education program acceptable to NYSED.
  • Current certification as a nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Successful completion of pharmacology coursework acceptable to NYSED.
  • Three years of professional nursing experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
  • At least one year of experience as a nurse practitioner in ambulatory health care.
  • Current CPR certification.
