Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to deliver patient-centered care in a collaborative, leadership-driven environment. The role requires 4 shifts of 10 hours with a weekend commitment, and emphasizes evidence-based practice, credentialing, and ongoing professional development.

Provides care under organizational policies, with a focus on safety, quality, and family-centered service, within the NJ regulatory framework and hospital bylaws.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents accurate history and physical assessments appropriate for patient age and clinical problem.
• Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory tests and diagnostic studies in collaboration with physicians.
• Manages general medical and surgical conditions with knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, and pharmacologic agents.
• Prescribes medication safely and effectively in accordance with practice and NJ regulations.
