Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare Foundation, seeks a Medical Assistant for Neurology in Lewiston. This full-time, day-shift role (8:00–16:30) supports physicians and clinics, handling patient care, scheduling, and chart management.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, graduate of an accredited medical assisting program, BLS, and at least one year of public-facing healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Graduate from an accredited school of medical assistance.
• Medical Assistant Certification, preferred.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum one year work experience in public contact job.
• Work experience in health care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental and organization tasks.
• Appointment scheduling and chart management.
• Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services.
• Conveys a positive image of the organization.
