Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Clinical Research Specialist to support multiple projects under supervision of the Clinical Trial Manager, handling data collection and documentation, and ensuring the safety of study volunteers.

The role involves coordinating with investigators, nurses, and coordinators; performing data abstraction; and contacting study participants for reminders and follow-ups while ensuring compliance with study protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or related field.
• One year experience in healthcare setting preferred.
• Research setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports the inter-professional team of clinical research investigators, nurses and coordinators.
• Performs clinical research support functions including informed consent for non-interventional studies and data abstraction.
• Makes phone calls to study patients for appointment reminders and follow-up.
• Transports blood and tissue samples; processes and packages lab samples for shipping.
• Completes required case report forms and resolves queries; ensures accurate data collection and regulatory filing.
• Assists in identifying opportunities for workflow process improvement and contributes to meeting department targets.
