Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine, Neurology, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to manage recruitment, consent, and data handling for muscular dystrophy-related studies. The role requires coordination with PI and team to ensure regulatory and ethical compliance and successful study execution.

This fully onsite position supports a multi-disciplinary team, with responsibilities spanning patient screening, data management, regulatory filings, and study close-out

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health or life sciences, nursing or similar; or equivalent related 3 – 4 years experience
• Ability to obtain CNA, CMA or EMT within 6 months of hire date
• Highly competent with computer software, including database, spreadsheet and word processing applications
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences

Responsibilities

• Coordinate study recruitment activities: pre-screening, screening
• Access data capture/retrieval systems and interact with health care delivery systems to identify potential study participants
• Conduct informed consent process for research participants throughout study participation and follow up
• Coordinate enrollment of participants and file randomization documents
• Support PI and study staff to ensure compliance with requirements and study objectives
• Coordinate study close-out activities and related documentation
• Ensure study activities align with regulatory requirements and protocol
• Manage study data and regulatory documentation according to GCP guidelines
• Complete orientation and required training modules for department and projects
• Maintain competency verifications for clinical skills
