Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to deliver evidenced-based care within the Neurology department. The APP will assess patients, develop care plans, write orders, and provide family-centered discharge planning in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires credentialing, a Master’s degree in NP/PA/CNS, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in nursing (NP, CNS) or physician assistant with credentialing eligibility.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Eligibility for medical staff credentialing in applicable state(s).

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, and monitors clinical status of patients using evidence-based practice.
• Develops and implements detailed plans of care and prescribes therapy as needed.
• Identifies changes in patient status and escalates appropriately.
• Performs procedures after credentialing and supports multidisciplinary care.
• Leads and participates in quality improvement initiatives within the department.
• Serves as a clinical resource for staff and provides education.
