Job summary

Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, LA is seeking a Staff Physician in Neurology to provide and coordinate patient care in alignment with Ochsner's core values. Candidate should have an MD or DO, Louisiana licensure, and completion of a neurology residency.

Qualifications

• Licensure: License to practice medicine in Louisiana.
• Other Requirements: Completion of a neurology residency.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat neurological diseases and disorders.
• Develop a plan of care for each patient, including complete medical history, physician examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral.
• Stress the importance of preventative health care measures.
• Use all available resources in diagnosis and treatment in an appropriate and cost-efficient manner.
• Confer with consulting physicians, nurses, patients and patients' families concerning treatment and care of patients.
• Takes neurological On-Call coverage on an equal rotation basis with practice peers.
• Refer those cases that require specialist services while maintaining responsibility to assure that continuity of care is provided.
