Job Profile Title: Database Technician

Position Description: The Translational Reproductive Neuropsychiatry and Data Science Lab is part of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. The role supports managing and analyzing high‑dimensional neuroimaging data to investigate sex differences in brain development and psychiatric disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Manage, process, and analyze high‑dimensional neuroimaging data.
  • Assist in large‑scale projects investigating sex differences in brain development and hormonal psychiatric symptoms.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary faculty and trainees in psychiatry, psychology, engineering, statistics, and computer science.
  • Lead independent meta‑analysis projects and produce first‑author manuscripts.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned based on skills and interests.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, or Computer Science.
  • 0–1 year of research experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong program and data analysis skills in Python, Linux/bash, and R.
  • Experience with machine learning, clinically acquired neuroimaging, and software tools such as SPM, AFNI, FSL is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Epic databases (Clarity, Databricks, Caboodle) is strongly preferred but not required.

Background check required. Position contingent on funding.

Working Conditions

Office, Library. Typically sitting at a desk; occasional lifting of 25 lb. or less.

Salary

$26.66–$33.00 Hourly Rate.
