Utilizes specialized technical skills to perform Neurodiagnostic (ND) procedures independently. Prepares patients and conducts routine and specialized ND procedures (EEG, EMG). Must meet competency standards within 6 months, including adult and pediatric/neonate patients. Assists medical staff with complex procedures and provides technical data for diagnosis. Participates in training and development of procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or Associate’s Degree in an Allied Health Field, or graduate of CAAHEP ND Program, or ASET EEG Core Certification.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
  • Obtain R.EEG.T certification within 2 years of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Allied Health Field.
  • Professional R.EEG.T certification upon hire.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Includes scheduling, documentation, evaluation, patient interaction, performing and assisting with procedures, equipment maintenance, training, and participating in ongoing education and research activities. Responsibilities also involve ensuring patient safety, accurate recording, and contributing to departmental improvements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 pounds.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Conducts procedures in Neuro Labs, bedside, and critical care areas, sometimes under emergent conditions.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and patients.
