Job summary

Veterans Health Administration in Asheville, NC seeks a skilled EEG/Neurodiagnostic Technician to operate and monitor advanced neurodiagnostic equipment in the Neurodiagnostic Center at the Asheville VAMC, VISN 6. The role includes performing awake and sleep EEGs, NCVs, IOM, MSLT, EPs, and LTMs, and ensuring equipment maintenance and safety.

Responsibilities also cover patient preparation, data interpretation, and collaboration with medical staff.

Qualifications

• Experience performing EEGs (awake and asleep) and specialized neurodiagnostic testing.
• Knowledge of neurodiagnostic equipment operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA/CPRS).

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor EEGs, including awake/asleep, portable, and activation studies.
• Perform NCV, intraoperative monitoring, MSLT, EPs, polysomnograms and LTMs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment; communicate with support teams as needed.
• Coordinate with medical staff and communicate test indications and results.
