Job summary

The Mayo Clinic Department of Neuroscience in Jacksonville, Florida seeks an exceptional scientist (PhD, MD/PhD, MD or equivalent) to establish a robust translational research program focused on neurodegenerative diseases. The candidate will integrate efforts across Neuroscience, Neurology, AI and Pathology to leverage human data and biospecimens for biomarker discovery and novel therapies.

Qualifications

• Strong interdisciplinary collaboration across neuroscience, neurology, AI and pathology.
• Proven track record with extramural funding (NIH, ARPA, etc.).
• Experience leading team science and managing academic/biopharma collaborations.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead a translational neuroscience research program.
• Develop and pursue biomarker discovery and novel therapeutic approaches.
• Leverage human data, biospecimens and model systems to accelerate disease-modifying therapies.
• Engage with education and foster trainee development.
