Sanford Health in Fargo, ND is seeking a Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced nursing care for complex neurological patients in the ICU, in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team.
You will perform neurological assessments, manage critically ill neuro patients, assist with procedures, monitor ICP and seizures, participate in rounds, educate families, document in the EHR, and support care transitions and quality improvement.

The Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care for the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with complex neurological conditions in the intensive care unit (ICU) setting. Working in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members, the NP delivers high-quality care for patients with conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, neuromuscular failure, and post-neurosurgical complications.
Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred. Minimum 1–2 years of experience in critical care or neurology setting preferred Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice. State Controlled Substance License (if required by State) National board certification as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) or ACNPC-AG), Acute Care Adult (ACNP-BC), Additional certifications require approval from a market executive leader: Family (FNP-BC) or (FNP–C), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP-BC) or (AGNP), Adult (ANP) Certification in Neurocritical Care (e.g., CCRN or CNRN) preferred Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form.
