Job summary

Jefferson is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to join a lab investigating HIV persistence, neuroinflammation, aging, and neurodegeneration. The team uses iPSC-derived microglia, brain organoids, and genomic approaches to identify novel therapeutic targets.

The role involves multidisciplinary projects on how HIV, chronic inflammation, and drugs of abuse affect brain function and neurocognitive aging.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in biology or related field.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture preferred.
• Familiarity with molecular biology techniques.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and expand iPSC cultures.
• Assist generation and maintenance of cerebral organoids.
• Perform molecular and cellular biology experiments.
• Train new lab staff on lab techniques.
