Job summary

IDR, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Research Scientist to lead and contribute to neuro-based stereotactic product development.

You will coordinate with R&D, Regulatory, Marketing, and Clinical Affairs to advance investigations and ensure robust scientific rigor across projects. The role requires a strong background in neuroscience and preclinical research, with hands-on history in in vivo studies and histology.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in neuroscience, biomedical sciences, biology, toxicology, materials science, or related field; PhD or DVM preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience with a Master’s degree; or 3+ years with a PhD or DVM.
• 3-5 years of research experience in neuroscience, tissue histology, or related preclinical research areas.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in preclinical in vivo research, including large animal model testing.
• Experience with biological safety risk assessment and supporting regulated product development.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigational and research activities for neuro-based stereotactic products.
• Drive research planning, study execution support, outcome tracking, and risk assessment documentation.
• Serve as scientific SME and advisor to cross-functional teams (R&D, Regulatory, Marketing, Clinical Affairs).
• Act as scientific liaison with external leaders, labs, CROs, and partner organizations.
• Collaborate across design, process engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and site teams to advance research initiatives.
