Carle Health is hiring an Occupational Therapist to join our expanding outpatient Neuro program. You will deliver patient-centered care, work within a collaborative team, and continually develop your clinical skills. Qualifications

• Certifications: BLS within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
• Education: Bachelor's Degree: Occupational Therapy (Required)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair and floor.
• Keeps safe body mechanics to reduce injury risk for self, staff and patients.
• Designs an appropriate plan of care that integrates goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plan.
• Adjusts care based on patient response and available evidence.
• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine diagnoses and outcomes of care.
• Performs examinations using reliable methods relevant to chief complaint and history.
• Screens patients to determine need for further therapy services.
• Uses support personnel according to legal and ethical guidelines.
• Monitors care delivered by support personnel and provides regular feedback.
• Documents evaluations and plans of care with goals and treatment modifications.
• Completes annual education to comply with program requirements where applicable.
• Evaluates and implements intervention plans with functional activities and family considerations.
• Modifies approach in response to patient behavior and performance.
• Uses standardized outcomes measures to reflect functional performance.
• Documents in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborates with patient and family and provides education as needed.
• Provides supervision to COTA and rehab technicians as required by regulations.
• Communicates patient performance and discharge needs to the medical team.
