Job summary

UMC Health System in Lubbock, TX seeks a Registered Nurse for the Neuro ICU on the night shift (7pm–7am). The unit provides care for adolescent to geriatric patients in a 14-bed critical care setting with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Qualified candidates will have an accredited nursing degree, Texas RN or Compact license, BLS/ACLS, and NIHSS certification. BSN within 3 years and CRCN preferred. The hospital emphasizes research, education, and compassionate, team-based care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License.
• Must maintain a current BLS & ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
• BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
• Must maintain National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certificate NIHSS.
• CRCN Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care in accordance with established philosophy.
• Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.
• Coordinate needed patient care with all disciplines and multidisciplinary team to provide excellent service to patients and families.
