Qualifications

• Registered Nurse registered in Massachusetts who is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual.
• Demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs.
• Directly responsible to a designated nurse manager or supervisor.

Responsabilités

• Accountable for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating a plan of care for a specific patient assignment.
• Maintains continuity through clear and concise communication with the care team.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development of adult and geriatric patients; applies NICU and Obstetrics principles as needed.
• Documents patient care clearly and completely according to nursing documentation standards.
• Develops and executes a comprehensive plan of care based on initial assessment, data from the health care team, and prior records.
• Creates a comprehensive educational plan for patient and family using appropriate resources.
• Develops a discharge plan utilizing appropriate resources and referrals.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and revises plans to achieve outcomes.
• Participates in unit-based and organizational quality improvement programs.
• Provides a safe environment and administers medications per policy.
• Interacts professionally with patients, families and colleagues; collaborates with other disciplines.
• Upholds ANA code of ethics and participates in goal-setting for the unit.
• Participates in orientation and evaluation of staff and peers.
