Riverside Technologies Inc. is seeking a Network Engineer focused on telecommunications to design, implement, and support complex networks for customers.

The role involves onsite and remote work, travel up to 50%, and collaboration with OEMs and service vendors to ensure performance and reliability. The ideal candidate has experience in network architecture, UC systems (Cisco UC, Teams Phone, Zoom Phone), and strong diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in networking or related field.
• Network certifications such as Network+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Aruba, Meraki, Fortinet are highly desired.
• Knowledge of Fiber, CAT5e/6/6A is a plus.
• 1 year in field service supporting networking hardware.
• 3+ years in network architecture and deployment.
• Experience with Cisco Unified Communications, Microsoft Teams Phone, or Zoom Phone.
• Ability to travel up to 50% (domestic/international) and withstand varying shifts.
• Must pass drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote support for customers’ networks, routers, switches, and servers.
• Design and implement new network solutions or improve current networks.
• Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, DNS/DHCP and LANs.
• Monitor network activity, investigate faults, respond to issues, and resolve communications problems.
• Collaborate with OEMs, distributors, and third-party vendors to meet performance needs.
• Offer technical assistance and support for networking equipment and related IT systems.
• Communicate repair steps, parts, and timelines clearly to customers.
• Manage SIP trunking, call routing, and plan extensions (IVR, voicemail).
• Implement and monitor QoS policies; support E911 compliance and location tracking.
• Update network documentation and coordinate with project teams.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing Network topologies based on the design specifications. RTI has multiple levels of engineers with various responsibilities, including:

• Designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing RTI’s customers’ local and wide area networks


• Optimizing system availability to ensure uninterrupted user operations


• Modifying and repairing networks


• Diagnosing complex telephony issues using packet captures, system logs, and call trace analysis.


• Field Engineering up to 50% travel

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Providing onsite and/or remote support, including hardware and networking support for customers’ networks, routers, switches, and servers


• Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks


• Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, and DNS and DHCP, as well as configuring LAN’s, firewalls and updating network equipment to the latest firmware


• Monitoring networking activity, investigating faults in the network, responding to network issues, and resolving any communication issues for our customers


• Working with OEM’s, distributors, third-party support, and service vendors to ensure that the network meets performance expectations


• Providing technical assistance and support for incoming issues related to networking equipment, computer systems, and hardware


• Communicating accurately, concisely, and professionally with the customer about important repair steps taken, parts ordered, and time estimated until completion


• Call Routing & Numbering: Managing dial plans, extension ranges, IVR systems, automated attendants, and voicemail platforms.


• Implementing and monitoring QoS policies


• Supporting E911 compliance and location tracking mapping emergency response locations (ERLs) to network switch ports and subnets. Updating the network documentation and communicating to project team and customer


• Administering SIP trunking, RTP


• Performing other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in networking and security management, computer science, or related field is preferred.


• Network Certifications highly desired: Network+, Cisco, CCNA, Aruba, Meraki, Extreme, Fortinet, CompTIA and HP certifications


• Knowledge of Fiber, CAT 5e, 6, 6A is a plus


• 1 year in field service support role supporting a variety of hardware and networking equipment


• 3+ years' experience in network architecture and deployment is highly desired


• Experience with major enterprise communication systems (Cisco Unified Communications, Microsoft Teams Phone, or Zoom Phone).


• Ability to travel. Position can be up to 50% travel, both in and out of state, including overnight stays


• Must be available for varying shifts depending on customers’ needs


• Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism in actions, demeanor, and dress


• Must have exceptional driving record and have a valid driver’s license.


• Must be able to pass drug screening and background check


• Must have ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.


• Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working at heights of 3-40 ft.
